In My ‘Hood…

On my walkabout this morning after dropping Lily at school…this shop intrigues me to enter but it’s usually closed when I’m in the area…lives on the Danforth just across from East Lynn park where I’ve often taken Lily to play, right next door to our neighborhood bakery Celena’s…

You know, Julia, I get a charge out of what you guy’s call walking around. Hearing “walk about” is unheard of down here. I think that it’s called the same thing in Australia and New Zealand? Kinda cute! Are girls called “a bit of fluff” there? If so, I think that it’s novel idea. In Australia and New Zealand girls are also called “birds”. There is a story behind what I just mentioned. ~ Les

And I think “walkabout” in Australia means literally to go walking in the outback for “awhile” an undetermined amount of time…a bit of fluff? No but I’ve heard the expression โ˜บ “birds” I knew the British use it as well at least they did in the 60’s.
